Free Products
How It Works
Automatically add a free product to the shopping cart once certain conditions are met. The customer sees the free product directly in the shopping cart with a "Free" badge.
Use Cases
From €50 cart value: Add free product
Only for specific customer groups (e.g., VIP customers)
Time-limited campaigns (e.g., Christmas gift)
Max. 100 units given away (limitation)
Create New Free Product
Marketing > Marketing Suite > Free Products
Click on "+ New Free Product"
Fill in the fields:
General Settings
Field | Description |

Name | Internal name for the action (required field) |
Priority | Higher number = higher priority. When multiple rules are active simultaneously, the one with the highest priority is evaluated first. |
Active | Turns the rule on/off |
Conditions
Field | Description |
|---|---|
Minimum Cart Value | From which cart value the free product is triggered. Empty = always active. |
Sales Channel | Limited to which shop. Empty = all channels. |
Customer Group | For which customer group. Empty = all. |
Shopware Condition | Optional additional condition from the Shopware Rule Builder. |
Free Product Details

Shopping Cart Display
Field | Description |
|---|---|
Cart Label | Custom text in the shopping cart (e.g., "Your free gift"). Empty = product name is used. |
Customer Can Remove Item | If disabled, the customer cannot remove the free product from the shopping cart. |
Design Settings

Badge Text | Text on the green badge (default: "Free") |
Hint Text | Text below the product name (default: "Automatically added") |
Time Limitation & Limits

Max. Uses Per Customer | How many times a single customer may receive the free product |
Valid From / Valid Until | Time period for the campaign |
Global Settings
In the Free Products overview, you will find the "Settings" sidebar on the right:
Shopping Cart Design & Preview: Global design for all free products (badge text, hint text, cart label). Can be overridden per free product.
Customer Can Remove Free Items by Default: Global setting, can be overridden per rule.
Tier Limitation
From the Pro tier onwards, multiple free product rules can be active simultaneously. In the Free tier, only one rule is allowed.
Copy Free Product
Click on the copy icon next to an existing free product to create a copy. The copy is automatically created as inactive.
